Dear Parents,

We had a great week as we started creating our color mixing book by learning how to make the color green. We began our unit on farm animals by learning all about ducks and taking a trip to White Post Farms.  The children had fun as they learned about pumpkins in the Scholastic weekly reader.

This week we will continue our unit on Farm Animals by learning all about hens. We will make a cute Hen craft to hang in our classroom.  We will also be learning about the color Brown.  The children will learn how to recognize, sound out, and trace the letter B for bat.  We will also discuss the importance of Christopher Columbus and make a fun hat to wear for Columbus Day.

IMPORTANT DATES AND REMINDERS:

• October 7th – School Picture Day
• October 13th – NO SCHOOL for Columbus Day
• October 24th – NO SCHOOL for Professional Development Day
• Please remember to empty your child’s folder daily.
