Happy Groundhog Day on Monday!
We are looking forward to celebrating Black History Month during February.
We will be going to the library, as usual, on Monday. Your child is welcome to keep the book they checked out last Friday or bring it back and check out a new one.
There will be Super Sports this Friday for those who have registered. Friday will also be a Dress Down Day to benefit the Critters program. The cost to participate is $5. The office is unable to make change.
There will be a math test on Module 11 on Monday, as noted in last week’s blog, and a spelling test on Thursday.
This week, we will be
- Learning about the wisdom and power our Lord gives us through prayer to combat bullying, how Jesus healed leprosy and restored sight, and the parable of the rich fool in Religion
- Moving into Week 3 of Unit 3 in Wonders with a focus on the long o sound, decodable readers, past-tense and future-tense verbs, high-frequency words, contractions with not, what we can see in the sky, fiction, character perspective, and sequencing, plus finalizing our personal narratives, in ELA
- Assessing our knowledge of the content in Module 11 and then moving into Module 12, Represent and Record Addition and Subtraction, of Unit 4, Two-Digit Addition and Subtraction, in Math
- Enjoying Groundhog Day and then exploring the contributions of Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and Jackie Robinson to the lives of Black Americans in Social Studies
- Continuing our investigations of animal habitats and survival in Science
Specials will include Library, Art, SEL, PE, Spanish, Music, and Computer. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
May our precious Lord bless our week together,
Mrs. Nekota
