I hope your Easter/Spring Break was a joyous one!
There will be a Dress Down Day on Friday to benefit the Critters program. The cost is $5 to participate. The office is unable to make change.
There will be a spelling test on Wednesday and a Module 16 Math test on Thursday this week. Next week, there will be a Chapter 5 “Making a Difference” Social Studies test on Tuesday. Review materials covered in class for the Math and Social Studies tests will be sent home the night before the Math and Social Studies tests for further review at home.
This week, we will be
- Learning about the appearances of Jesus to the disciples, including Peter and Thomas, and other friends after He rose plus the Ascension of Jesus in Religion
- Finishing up Unit 4 of our Wonders curriculum with a focus on poetry, nature/seasons/weather, blend words with the r-controlled vowels in are, air, ear, and ere, high-frequency words, phoneme categorization, syllable identification, contrasting vowel sounds, cause and effect, antonyms, similes, free verse, theme, rhyme schemes, vocabulary development, and decodable readers plus a review of Units 3 and 4 in Vocabulary Workshop with an emphasis on synonyms as well as antonyms, classifying words, word associations, completing ideas, compound words, and word families in ELA
- Completing Module 16, Three-Digit Addition, and diving into Module 17, Three-Digit Subtraction, in Math
- Writing realistic fiction stories about heroes, including the use of dialogue and associated punctuation/capitalization, plus exploring Chapter 5 in My World, Lesson 5 – “Heroic Helpers” and Lesson 6 – “How We Can Make a Difference,” in Social Studies
- Finding out about the end of animal hibernation each spring, Teen Rex, hope for the Everglades, and why animals return in the spring after going to warmer places during the winter in Science
Specials will include Library, Art, SEL, PE, Spanish, Music and Computer. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
