Note from Mrs. Jones – Week of October 20th

Welcome to the 2025 – 2026 School Year. I look forward to helping the students acquire the Spanish language through reading, listening and writing.

5th Grade Spanish: This week the students will interpret a series of short sentences, listen to the descriptions of several
animals, invent an unusual animal and collaboratively dictate a description in Spanish.

6th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue Unit 2 of  Vamos. They will also co-create a story using TPRS®, retell a familiar story, demonstrate comprehension of a familiar story through translation, identify, illustrate, and describe scenes from a familiar story.

7th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue Unit 2 of Somos. They will translate simple stories, interpret new vocabulary in context, listen to a song, and co-create a story in Spanish.  The core vocabulary are: camina (walks), corre (run) and vees (sees) in addition to various cognates. They will be a test on Thursday for Unit 2.

8th Grade Spanish: his week the students will continue Unit 2.5 of Somos. This week the students will continue to translate simple stories, interpret new vocabulary in context, listen to a song, and co-create a story in Spanish.  The core vocabulary are: hay (there is/there are), va (goes) and no puede (can not) in addition to various cognates.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPUTER CLASS
Students will learn about The Four Factors of Fair Use. They will learn:

  • Define the terms “copyright,” “public domain,” and “fair use.”
  • Identify the purpose of the Four Factors of Fair Use.
  • Apply fair use to real-world examples, making a case for or agains
