Second Grade – Week of October 20, 2025 – by Mrs. Nekota for Mrs. Ryan

Welcome, fall! We are enjoying this season together.

There will be no school for students on Friday. Faculty will be attending a day of professional development sessions at LuHi in Brookville.

There will be a Dress Down Day on Thursday. Kindly place your child’s $5 in an envelope with his or her name on it.

There will be a math test on Tuesday on Module 4, Place Value. A spelling test will be given on Thursday.

Students did a terrific job of creating then-now posters for Social Studies and dinosaur projects and presentations for Science. Both will be graded as tests and displayed before they are sent home.

This week, we will be

  • Taking a place value assessment and moving into Module 5, Read, Write, and Show Numbers to 1,000 in Math
  • Analyzing where people live and the significance of the Statue of Liberty in Social Studies
  • Tying our interest in pumpkins at this time of year to seed dispersal and plant growth in Science
