Note from Mrs. Jones – Week of November 17

Welcome to the 2025 – 2026 School Year. I look forward to helping the students acquire the Spanish language through reading, listening and writing.

5th Grade Spanish: This week the students will be reading the story Bart quiere un gato. They will be practicing speaking using the verbs hay, soy, eres, es, estoy, estas, esta, tengo, tienes, and tiene.

6th Grade Spanish: This week the students will start the novel, Bart quiere un gato. In this book, the students choose where the story goes. They will be learning to listen, read and respond to questions in Spanish. They will be practicing speaking using the verbs soy, eres, es, estoy, estas, esta, tengo, tienes, and tiene.

7th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue reading the novel Seis Meses de Soledad. They will practice speaking and writing through Picture Talk and Write and Discuss activities. They will continue practicing speaking using 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular grammar form of ser, estar and tener.

8th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue reading the novel Nueva Escuela, Nuevos Amigos. They will practice speaking and writing through Picture Talk and Write and Discuss activities. They will continue practicing speaking using 1st, 2nd and 3rd person singular grammar form of ser, estar, tener and querer.
