Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend trick or treating! Check their green folders for any important notices or information and read the story of the week with them. This Tuesday we have an Open house where families will come tour the building to see how our school runs and the great things we do here. Any questions or concerns please let me know on Dojo.

Since we are in November it is time for us to do our first home project. We will be reading Turkey Trouble in class. Students will get a turkey paper and have to decorate their turkey in a disguise. There are so many examples if you look up “turkey disguise on Google”. This is a fun activity that the kids will do at home. Make it creative and crafty! I am looking forward to see what they come up with. Turkeys will be due on November 12th. 

Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test is on Friday. Our spelling words this week are: fast, past, lend, send, wink, sink, cut, fun, who, of

Math – We are going to review on Monday for our third test. Module 3 test is on Tuesday. Make sure their books come back so we can continue with module 4. Module 4 will be about Applying the Addition and Subtraction Relationship.

ELA – Our reading test is on Thursday. This weeks story is titled “At a Pond”. This week we learn about ending blends. We have done beginning so now this time they will be at the end. We will also learn about present tense ending /ing/. When to use it, how to read it, and how to spell words with ing. We will also learn about when we are using possessive nouns that end in s to put the apostrophe after. For example: The pigs’ pen. Our HF words are: eat, no, of, who, under.

Writing – We have been perfecting our 5 star sentences. We are going to work more on fixing wrong sentences using correct grammar and neat handwriting.

Science – I have decided to switch on and off with social studies and science each month. This month we did science using pumpkins and now we are in our Moon Unit. For November we will switch over and do social studies.

Religion – We are still continuing Unit 3.
