Greetings to one and all! Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

This week we will focus on Jesus healing people both physically, and spiritually. We will study how Jesus healed the Centurion’s servant and a man who was deaf. Then we will learn how to show God’s love to others through the parable of the Good Samaritan. The memory verse this week is Luke 10:27.

6th Social Studies

This week in social studies we will be working in the STEAM Lab designing and building structures inspired by Roman architecture. Next week, the students will take their test on Topic 8- The Roman Empire, on Thursday, May 14th.

7th Religion

The students will have their test on Unit 6 on Friday, May 8th. There is no memory verse.

7th Social Studies

This week we will study the election of Abraham Lincoln and the start of the Civil War. Then, we will study the early battles of the war, the beginning of the emancipation of slaves, and what life was like for civilians during the war.

8th Religion

The lessons this week will focus on Jesus teaching people important spiritual and life lessons. We will study the lessons of Mary and Martha, Zacchaeus, and Jesus’ own 12 Disciples. The memory verse this week is John 3:16.

8th Social Studies

This week we will wrap up Topic 15 by studying the Civil Rights Movement, the movement for equal rights for women and minorities, and then how Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon handled the Vietnam War. Toward the end of the week, they will begin reviewing for the test on Topic 15, which will be on Tuesday, May 12th.
