Mrs. Holder’s Update for the Week of May 4, 2026

5th Grade Social Studies – This week, we are launching a new two-week project! Students will work in pairs to design their own island government after being “stranded,” applying what they have learned about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They will explore laws, rights, leadership, and fairness while developing a deeper understanding of why government is essential in society.

5th Grade Science – We are learning about tsunamis this week. A quiz is scheduled for Thursday.

5th Grade Religion – We will continue our study of the miracles performed by Jesus. I will also be sending home a permission slip for students to watch the movie Miracles from Heaven.

6th Grade Math – We will be wrapping up our unit on inequalities, with a test on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will begin our final unit on geometry before transitioning into final exam review.

6th Grade Earth Science – On Monday, we will begin our final chapter before the review period. This chapter focuses on maps as models of the Earth, including longitude, latitude, and topographic maps. The 2.1 vocabulary quiz will be on Thursday.
