Social Studies: We are learning about immigrants and the promise of America. We will also be learning about the Homestead Act.

Science: In this lesson, students explore the extreme trait variation of different dog breeds — and pet pigeon breeds! In the activity, Pigeon Pairings, students analyze trait similarities and differences among parent, offspring, and sibling pigeons. They interpret this data to discover that the variation and inheritance of traits creates a pattern that explains why we see such extreme traits in artificially selected animal breeds.

Religion: We are learning about Jesus’ first disciples, and also about Jesus at the wedding in Cana where he turns water into wine.
