I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and stayed safe during the storm. Due to the snow days on Monday and Tuesday, I only have a few updates for the week.
6th Religion
In religion class this week, we will be studying the book of Isaiah. We will look at the historical context as well as many of the important prophecies Isaiah was given about Jesus.
6th Social Studies
This week we will begin Topic 6- Ancient Greece. We will start by looking at the unique geography of Greece and how it affected the culture, then we will study the earliest civilizations of Greece- the Minoans and Mycenaeans.
7th Religion
In religion this week, we will study some of the most well known Old Testament prophecies of Jesus, and how they were fulfilled in the New Testament.
7th Social Studies
In social studies, the students will finish their topic 5 projects, and then we will begin topic 6, which will cover the age of Andrew Jackson and western expansion. This week will specifically focus on John Quincy Adams and the election of Andrew Jackson.
8th Religion
This week in eighth grade religion, the students will get a head start on their trimester three project, to design and build a model of a modern day church, based on the Old Testament temple. This will be done in the STEAM Lab at school and should be constructed mainly from found objects. We will be working on these for the next few weeks.
8th Social Studies
This week in social studies the students will first finish their topic 12 projects, and then we will begin topic 13, which will cover the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression. We will begin with looking at how the nation adjusted to life after World War I.
