Song of the Week- Sunday Sermons by Anne Wilson
Language Arts- This week we will begin Unit 5 of our Wonder’s series. Our essential question is, What do living things need to grow? We will read, My Garden. We will learn the sight word ‘did’ and ‘on’. We will focus on the long and short i sounds, and the short a and e word families. We will continue to blend sounds to make a word and identifying all sounds in CVC words. In grammar, we will learn about subjective pronouns, replacing a persons name, animals, or objects with he, she, it.
Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be CVC words and word families.
Math- This week we will complete Chapter 7 and have a test on Tuesday and then begin Chapter 8 – Represent Numbers 6 to 10 with Written Numerals.
Math Centers- We will practice adding and subtracting.
Jesus Time- We will continue to read about Jesus growing up and all the wonderful stories he told and miracles he preformed.
Science: This week we will dive into Mystery Science and learn about freezing cold temperatures.
Social Studies: We will be learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and how influential and important he was to our world. We will make a bubble map to write words that describe him and color puzzle pieces and put them together to create an amazing picture of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
No school next Monday 1/19 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
