Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving and the extra days of family time!

5th Grade Social Studies

Students will have their Chapter 3 test on Wednesday. The study guide was handed out last Monday and is posted on Google Classroom. We will also begin our cross-curricular project, Christmas Around the World. In Social Studies, students will create and label a map of their chosen country and design that country’s flag.

5th Grade Science

This week, in Lesson 9, we will continue learning about the Biosphere, focusing on the carbon and nitrogen cycles. Toward the end of the week, we will begin Lesson 10, which explores how human activities impact the Geosphere—including a fun cookie extraction activity.

5th Grade Religion

We will continue studying Gideon and how God cares for us and helps us in our troubles. Later in the week, we will shift our focus to Samson, learning how God forgives our sins and strengthens us when we are weak.

6th Grade Math

There will be a percent word problem quiz on Wednesday. At the end of the week, we will begin our unit on statistics, focusing on mean, median, and mode.

6th Grade Earth Science

We are starting a new unit on Natural Resources. This week we will learn about fossil fuels. Since Lesson 5.1 is short, there will be a combined 5.1 and 5.2 quiz in the middle of next week.
