This Week in Art

PreK ~ we are painting red and black paper plates to prepare our “ladybugs.”

Kindergarten ~ we are starting a unit on portraiture.

Gr. 1 ~ we are learning about the American artist Jasper Johns.  The class will be making an encaustic collage using the American flag as inspiration.

Gr. 2 ~ this week we will complete our Color Wheel Chameleon Collage by adding twigs and leaves.

Gr. 3 ~ the class will learn about complementaty colors. They will create a Graffiti Name project using these colors.

Gr. 4 ~ this class is working on their Bug’s Life Scale in Composition drawings.

Gr. 5 ~ will be finishing up their Hicksville Water District posters for the annual contest.

Gr. 6 ~ is working on a pointilism painting of a fruit.

Gr. 7 ~ will start a Color Theory Construction Paper Collage.

Gr. 8 ~ is completing their Fingerprint Frenzy drawings this week.

Art Elective ~ is still working on their amusement parks.
