Welcome back! Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

This week we will learn about three important parables Jesus used to teach- the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. Then we will learn about Peter confessing his faith in Jesus as the Christ (Messiah). Next week, the students will have their last unit test on Wednesday, May 20th. After Memorial Day, we will begin reviewing for the final exam.

6th Social Studies

This week the students will review for their test on Topic 8- The Roman Empire. The test will be on Thursday, May 14th. Going into next week, we will study Europe after the fall of Rome, and how that led to the Middle Ages. After Memorial Day, we will review for the final exam.

7th Religion

In Religion this week, we will cover a variety of lessons. We will learn about Jesus’ Ascension into heaven, the Pentecost, and  Paul preaching to the people of Athens, Next week, we will study the book of Revelation to close out our studies before reviewing for the final exam.

7th Social Studies

This week we will wrap up learning about how the Union won the Civil War. The test on Topic 8 will be on Monday, May 18th. Then we will begin reviewing for the final exam.

8th Religion

This week we will continue to learn about Jesus’ earthly ministry. We will learn about the miracle of how He fed over 5,000 people and then His miraculous healing of ten lepers.

8th Social Studies

The students will have their test on Topic 15 on Tuesday, May 12th. On Wednesday and Thursday, they will complete a Document Based Question and essay on how the U.S. changed after World War II. Then, they will work on research projects on important cultural moments of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. After Memorial Day, we will review for the final exam.
