This Week in Art ~

PreK ~ this week we are going to add white tissue paper, ears, and a black nose to our polar bear masks

Kindergarten ~ we are using beads and patterns to make beautiful African tribal necklaces

Gr. 1 ~ we are learning about the American artist W. Homer and how he painted his watercolor pieces

Gr. 2 ~  Starry Starry Night, the great masterpiece of V. VanGogh will be discussed as we learn about the Impressionistic style of painting

Gr. 3 ~ this week we will complete our work for the Food Friends art contest

Gr. 4 ~ we will learn about the Japanese artist Yoyoi Kusama and her famous DOTS paintings

Gr. 5 ~ the class will learn about the value of gray and will use gray pastels to color a picture

Gr. 6 ~ we are still working on our African masks

Gr. 7 ~ the class will continue weaving their mug rugs on a cardboard loom

Gr. 8 ~ this week we learn about Japanese Notan Design and will start a construction paper collage

Art Elective ~ the class is excited to learn about Sally Trace’s Geometric Rythms Abstract paintings which will culminate in some original paintings from the girls
