This Week in Art

PreK ~ We will finish painting our lily ponds (inspired by the French artist Claude Monet’s very own beautiful pond in Giverny, France).

Kindergarten ~ We will review different lines, shapes and how to draw a person using shapes.  We will create a person collage.

Gr. 1 ~ The class will learn about the art principle perspective.  They will learn about the horizon line, objects look smaller in the distance and larger up close, sometimes objects overlap each other.

Gr. 2 ~ This class will learn about the Folk artist Heather Galler and create their very own folk art.

Gr. 3 ~ We will finish using oil pastels to color in our picture of mums in a vase.  We will add highlights using white and lighter colors.

Gr. 4 ~ The class will finish making their landscape collages.

Gr. 5 ~ We will continue to work on our faux batiks.

Gr. 6 ~ This class will finish sketching their sneakers across a larger paper to create movement in art.

Gr. 7 ~ We will continue to work on our abstract leaf drawings using warm tones.

Gr. 8 ~ This will be the last class to work on our Phobia drawings.

Art Elective ~ the class will learn how to construct a amusement park out of paper towel rolls and cardboard.
