This Week in Art

PreK ~ this class will finish up gluing the lily and lilypads to their ponds (inspired by C. Monet’s lilypond painting).

Kindergarten ~ we will finish up our colors, lines and shapes collage

Gr. 1 ~ the class will be finishing up their Poppies in Perspective collage (based on the Poppy scene from the Wizard of Oz).

Gr. 2 ~ the class will be creating their very own Folk Art piece, inspired by artist Heather Galler.

Gr. 3 ~ this week the class will learn about author and illustrator Faith Ringgold and her story quilts.  They will base their project on A Favorite Family Memory.

Gr. 4 ~ the class will be putting their final touches on their landscape collages

Gr. 5 ~ this week will be the final week to finish up the faux batik project

Gr. 6 ~ we’re hoping to finish up our painting on the Sneaker/Movement project

Gr. 7 ~ the class will create a construction paper collage on word art

Gr. 8 ~ the class will learn about emphasis (a principle in art).  They will create a still life cornucopia drawing.

Art Elective ~ After watching an instruction video on how to use paper rolls/cardboard to create a amusement park the class will start the construction process.  They will be working in pairs.
