3rd Grade News – March 23, 2026

“Stuffed” Animal Reports and Student Self-Assessments are due Tuesday, March 24.

Band is on Tuesday and Friday. Instrument lessons are on either Monday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please make sure your child brings his/her instrument to school for both band and lessons.

Academics

Math: We have learned about telling time and elapse time. Students will need to identify the number of minutes after the hour and the number of minutes before the hour, tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. They will have to solve one-step word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes. Our chapter test will be on Thursday.

ELA: For Unit 5, Week 1 our essential question is “What do good citizens do?” The following is a list of everything we will be covering in ELA, including our vocabulary and spelling words.

Social Studies: This week we will focus on being a good citizen in our community, civic engagement and being a citizen of the twenty-first century.

Science: Students will investigate mosquito life cycles and habitats and discover the role of mosquitoes in carrying diseases such as malaria.

Religion: This week we are learning about the prophet Isaiah
