Third Grade News – April 20, 2026

Important Information

Permission slips for our end of the year field trip to Round 1 are going home this week. They are due back on June 1st.

Please make sure water bottles are brought to school every day.

Please make sure Chromebooks are charged.

Don’t forget to check the band schedule. We have band on Tuesdays and Fridays. I am sure that more band days will be scheduled as our Spring Concert is approaching.

Academics

Math: We are working on fractions. We have been taking it slow to ensure everyone has a good basic understanding. Additionally, everyday I am sending home the classbook, in addition to the homework book, so that children can review the class work.

ELA: For Unit 5, Weeks 3-4 our essential question is “How do we get what we need?” The following is a list of everything we will be covering in ELA, including our vocabulary and spelling words.

Social Studies:  We are learning about American heroes. We are going to be focusing on the Founding Fathers, Anne Hutchinson, Abraham Lincoln, Clara Barton, Frederrick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Jr. ad Jane Addams.

Religion: We are focusing on when Jesus is born and the flight to Eqypt and return to Nazareth.
