The Pre-K News: Week of May 11th

Our school year is nearing its finale, but we are still learning and growing each day.  Our recent learning themes have had us busy exploring our world.  We have learned all about the elements of our earth and our sky.  This week, we learn about the creepy crawly creatures that we often find in our natural world this time of year.  We will be learning all about, “Bugs.”   Butterflies, Bees and other Insects along with their life cycles will be the basis for our learning activities this week.  In our science center, we have a live butterfly exhibit which we can observe the life cycle of an insect first hand.  We will also be singing songs including, “If I Were A Butterfly” and “Down By the Bay.”

We have now completed the alphabet.  We will begin learning about sight words this week.  Our sight words of the week will be:  I, a and you.
