We hope that all were able to enjoy a restful winter break with their families. Unfortunately, classes will not resume on Monday due to the impending blizzard. Please stay safe in the snowstorm and enjoy one more bonus day of winter break with your loved ones.
When we return to class, our themes for the week are: the letter Ss, the number 17 and Simple Machines STEM experiments. This week, we will enjoy building, creating, experimenting with and engineering catapults, cranes, claws, racers etc. while exploring the science behind the simple machines (pulley, wheel and axel, lever, inclined plane, wedge, screw) that make them possible. We will also discuss the scientific principle behind a “chain reaction” and design a mousetrap using this concept and the various simple machines that we explored earlier.
Our religion lessons this week will introduce us to the holy season of Lent and what it means to us. Our Lenten songs of praise will include, “Ho Ho Ho Hosanna,” “Arky, Arky” and “He Is the Light.” Our ABCs of Faith for the week are S is for star, spirit, storm, and snake.
Upcoming March Dates:
