The ECC4 Pre-K News: Week of May 4th

April showers bring May flowers.  Spring is in full bloom and so is our room.  This week, we are learning about a few of the changes that happen to our world now that spring is here.  We will discuss spring flowers and spring animal babies and their mothers.  We will also dye carnations this week by putting them in colored water in order to visualize first hand how flowers drink water.  This week, we have a few surprises that we are working on in class for our moms to make for an extra special Mother’s Day this weekend.  In addition, our letter of the week is letter Zz and Z is for zinnias.

The learning theme for this week is, “Exploring our world:  The Sky.”  We will dive into an exploration of the objects in our sky.  We will learn about the Sun, Moon, Stars/Constellations and Outer Space.  Our Dramatic Play center will transform into a space station as we learn about space through hands on play.

This Wednesday is also the School Art Show.  The children have worked very hard on their art projects and we hope that all can attend.  It should be a fun evening.
