Fall is here, and we plan to learn more about this wonderful season of the year. Tristan will also be celebrating his birthday on Thursday with us.
If you have not done so already, please complete and return the White Post Farm field trip permission slip along with payment. Thanks much!
The following tests will be given this week:
- Thursday – Spelling
- Friday – Manuscript Handwriting
- Friday – Math, Module 2
Classwork, homework, and test grades to date should be available online by next Monday.
This week we will be
- Learning more about the lives of Joseph and Abraham in the Old Testament
- Finishing up our handwriting review of the manuscript alphabet
- Taking a look at realistic fiction
- Comparing and contrasting families around the world
- Diving further into the Wonders reading and writing curriculum, including phonemic awareness and phonics, spelling and high-frequency words, shared reading, inflectional endings and structural analysis, visualization, plot (beginning, middle, and end), story elements (character, setting, and events), reading decodable texts, taking notes about and responding to texts, and making connections in writing about what we read
- Completing Module 2 in Math with a focus on representing and adding equal groups and the use of arrays to do so
- Deepening our understanding of family history and primary and secondary sources, including a related interview and poster project
- Finding out why leaves change colors in the fall
- Continuing with our study of animal categorization, habitats, and diversity

Specials will include Library, Art, Social Emotional Learning, PE, Spanish, Music, and Computer. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
