November is upon us, and we are ready to learn about Election Day and Veterans Day this week.
There will be a science test on the human body on Wednesday, a spelling test on Thursday, and a social studies assessment on Chapter 2 – People, Places, and Nature on Friday.
This week, we will be
- Learning about the fall of Israel and of Judah in Religion
- Continuing on with our work in ELA on animals, including reading about baby bears and butterflies; using short and long u sounds; reading decodable readers; and learning about phoneme segmentation, blends, CVC syllables, nouns, and abbreviations
- Moving into Module 6 – Lessons 1-5 in Math about using place value
- Exploring urban, suburban, and rural environments
- Supplementing our study of animals with a Mystery Science lesson on biodiversity
Read-alouds will include
- The Little Red Hen
- One Vote, Two Votes, I Vote, You Vote
- Thanksgiving Is for Giving Thanks
- Sounds on the Farm
- Seasons on the Farm
- Farming
Specials will include Library, Art, SEL, PE, Spanish, Music, and Computers. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.
