Students will be attending class Monday through Wednesday this week. School will not be in session on Thursday or Friday. The break will extend through next week, as well, with students returning to school on Monday, April 13. May your Easter and time together be full of joy!

We will have successfully reached our eight-book goal in the Read Across America program this week. Wonderful work!

We are looking forward to celebrating both Juliana’s birthday and participating in Easter-related activities on Wednesday.

There will be a spelling test on Wednesday.

This week, we will be

  • Learning about the rising of Jesus and His appearance to Mary in Religion
  • Moving into Week 4 of Unit 4 of our Wonders curriculum with a focus on expository texts and Earth changes, phoneme blending, syllable identification, words with r-controlled vowels, high-frequency words, abbreviations, apostrophes, vocabulary development, identification of verb tenses, comprehension, and decodable readers in ELA
  • Diving into Module 16, Three-Digit Addition, in Math
  • Analyzing the impact of heroes in My World’s Chapter 5 “Making a Difference” with a look at heroes who have inspired change and heroes in the field of science in Social Studies
  • Taking a closer look at how butter is made, spring cherry blossoms, and how animals know when to wake up from hibernation in Science

Specials will include Library, Art, Critters, PE, and Spanish. Chapel on Wednesday will be a Tenebrae Service at the end of the day.

May our precious Lord bless our week together,

Mrs. Nekota
