Trimester 2 came to an end last Thursday, and we have begun Trimester 3.

Your child is encouraged to dress down in green at no charge on Tuesday to enhance our celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Fun!

There will be no school on Friday for students. Staff will be participating in a day of professional development. There will be no homework on Thursday.

There will be a Module 14 math test on Tuesday, a timed subtraction facts math test on Wednesday, and a spelling test on Thursday.

This week, we will be

  • Moving into Week 2 of Unit 4 of our Wonders curriculum with a focus on children around the world, expository texts, phoneme identification and substitution, words with r-controlled vowels, high-frequency words, inflectional endings, helping verbs, book titles, similes, suffixes, and decodable readers plus developing vocabulary and identifying and using adverbs in ELA
  • Striving to memorize basic subtraction facts, demonstrating our understanding of Module 14 Algebra by using drawings and equations to solve two-digit addition and subtraction problems, and diving into Module 15 Addition and Subtraction Word Problems in Math
  • Investigating the country of Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day folklore plus moving back into My World with Chapter 5 Making a Difference, Lesson 1 What Makes a Hero? In Social Studies
  • Extending our knowledge of animal survival strategies and habitats and thinking about how hibernation comes to an end each year in Science

Specials will include Library, Art, Critters, PE, Spanish, and Music. We will be attending Chapel on Wednesday. Your child will be provided with an offering envelope on Tuesday to take home.

May our precious Lord bless our week together,
