Note from Mrs. Jones – Week of January 5

5th Grade Spanish: This week we’ll do a review of the previous vocabulary words. Using interact-a-story 1 in present tense, they will practice reading, speaking and writing using the vocabulary words – hay, esta, es, va, dice, 1st/2nd/3rd person of the verbs tener and querer.

6th Grade Spanish: This week we’ll do a review of the previous vocabulary words. Using interact-a-story 1 in present tense, they will practice reading, speaking and writing using the vocabulary words – hay, esta, es, va, dice, and 1st/2nd/3rd person of the verbs tener and querer. The students will start the story Bart quiere un gato, where they can choose where the story goes.

7th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue to practice reading, writing and speaking. They will continue to practice sentences using the words: esta, es, tengo, tienes, tiene, quiero, quieres, quiere. They will continue reading the next chapter in the story ‘Seis Meses de Soledad‘.

8th Grade Spanish: This week the students will continue to practice reading, writing and speaking in Spanish. They will practice sentences using the words: habia, tenia, era, estaba en, fue a, le dijo.. They will continue reading the next chapter story ‘Seis Meses de Soledad‘.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPUTER CLASS
5th Grade – Work step by step in Google Slides to learn how to produce a professional looking presentation about a topic. They will learn how to add specific slide types to a presentation and add pictures, transitions, and animations to a presentation.

6th Grade – Work step by step in Google Slides to learn how to produce a professional looking presentation about a topic. They will learn how to add specific slide types to a presentation and add pictures, transitions, and animations to a presentation.

7th Grade -Start Restaurant Entrepreneur project. Assignment 1 is the Instructor Menu. Students will write a memo to their instructor seeking approval of their new restaurant.

8th Grade – Learn how to use Google Form to create a Survey Questionnaire. Assignment 1: What is a Survey Questionnaire? In this session, students learn how survey questionnaires are used to help people solve problems. They examine how this tool is used by professionals to make informed decisions. To deepen their understanding, the students participate in a “Reading Habits” questionnaire. Afterwards, they analyze the results to interpret respondents’ book preferences.
