Ms. DeGennaro’s First Grade Class! 11/24 – 11/28

Hi everyone! Our field trip on Friday was so much fun! The kids loved seeing everything in the firehouse and behaved so well as a class. This week we only have 2 days so we are just going to be doing some review and fun activities to celebrate Thanksgiving! On Monday we will learn about the Thanksgiving Day Parade and get to make our own balloon floats. We will have our annual Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday and do a service activity after. We will pack our snack bags for children at the INN.

Spelling – Reviewing old spelling patterns and our digraphs from last week.

Math – We are going to do a little around the room activity during our centers. They will practice finding the missing addend.

ELA – We will read some old stories from Wonders and in our centers we will roll dice to read sentences and practice more with breaking apart words by syllables.

Writing – We are going to write what we see, hear, touch, feel, and taste on Thanksgiving.

Social Studies – The children brought home their lapbooks. We learned all about the history of Thanksgiving, the Mayflower, the pilgrims, and Native Americans.

Religion – We just reached Unit 4.

Important Dates – No school for Thanksgiving break on Wednesday to Friday!
