Hi everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Please check their green folders for any important information or notices. On Monday students are allowed to wear shorts to school! On Friday is WINGO it is a great event and always a great turn out. I am looking forward to seeing who comes. Any questions or concerns please let me know.

 

Spelling – 3x each or ABC order is due on Wednesday. Our spelling test is on Friday and our new words this week are: cow, how, town, mouse, mouth, out, born, roar, nothing, early

 

Math – We began our new module 14 about 3D shapes on last week. We will finish the third lesson on Monday, review Tuesday and then our test will be Wednesday, April 29th. Then, we will begin Module 15 which is also short and that test will be Friday, May 8th.

 

ELA – Our reading test is on Thursday. Our new story this week is “Whistle for Willie”. This weeks sound is /ou/ and /ow/. We will learn about adding -er and -est to adjectives to compare things. We will also do a mini lesson about a vs an. Our HF words this week are: color, early, instead, nothing, oh, thought. Our vocabulary words are scrambled – do an action quickly and suddenly – happening quickly without notice.

 

Writing – In our journals we will answer why it is important to take care of the Earth and what we like to do outside. We are in the process of writing our personal narratives. Everyone has brainstormed and planned out what they want to write about. This week we will be drafting each page.

 

Science – This week we will begin growing our grass! We will go down to the STEM lab and students will get to plant their own pot of grass. We will observe and record what we see throughout the process. Eventually, they will get to bring them home.

 

Religion – We are going to continue talking about the story of “Jesus and the Samaritan Woman”.

 

Important Dates – Shorts are Allowed starting Monday – Dress Down $5 on Friday – WINGO on Friday!
