5th Grade Social Studies – The Chapter 6 test on A New Nation will take place on Tuesday. A study guide was provided last week. From Wednesday through Friday, students will begin working on a presentation for the 4th grade about what it is like to be in middle school. Each student has been assigned two topics, such as changing classes, using lockers, recess and study hall, and electives. In May, the 5th graders will present to the 4th grade class and answer their questions.
5th Grade Science – The Tornado quiz will be on Monday. We will then move on to our next natural disaster: hurricanes. The Hurricanes quiz will be either Friday or the following Monday.
5th Grade Religion – This week we will conclude our lesson on Jesus teaching Mary and Martha and begin Lesson 43: Jesus and Zacchaeus. This lesson focuses on guidance for those who commit sins. The verse to be memorized for Friday’s quiz is: “Learn from me… and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29)
6th Grade Math – There will be a test on integers and equations on Tuesday. For the remainder of the week, students will be working on inequalities.
6th Grade Earth Science – On Monday, we will complete the final section of Chapter 10 on Soil Conservation. The Chapter 10 test will be on Friday.
