Welcome back, and Happy Thanksgiving to all! Here are the brief updates for our short week.
6th Religion
This week we will finish the last lesson in unit 2, Israel crosses the Jordan River into the Promised Land. When we return from Thanksgiving break, the students will review unit 2 and their test will be on Friday, December 5th.
6th Social Studies
In social studies, we will wrap up the first lesson about Ancient India and learn more about the mystery of the first civilizations of the Indus River Valley disappearing.
7th Religion
This week, we will study the reign of Israel’s first king, Saul, and the importance of the Ten Commandments in our lives today.
7th Social Studies
The students will take their test on Topic 4 on Monday, November 24th, and then they will continue working on researching prominent African Americans of the Revolutionary War Era.
8th Religion
This week we will study what happened to the Ark of the Covenant after Eli’s death, and then we will look at the symbols of our faith that are more common to us today.
8th Social Studies
In social studies, we will study several social justice movements of the Progressive Era. We will primarily focus on the women’s suffrage movement, the early African American civil rights movement, and how Asian Americans were affected during this time period.
