Welcome back to a new week at Trinity! Here are the updates for our short week.
6th Religion
In religion this week we will study the Tabernacle and how it relates to us as modern Christians. Then we will study the Israelites spy mission into the Promised Land and how it reminds us that God will always help and strengthen us when we are afraid. There is no memory verse this week.
6th Social Studies
This week the students will begin their very first research project on different Egyptian pharaohs and queens. They will spend the first few days researching, and then we will work on putting together Google Slides which they will present to the class. We will also complete the “mummification” of the apple slices we have been embalming for the last week and a half.
7th Religion
The students have their test on Unit 2 on Monday, November 10th. Then we will begin Unit 3, which will cover the time of the Judges and the early kings of Israel. We will start with learning about judge and prophetess, Deborah, and her general Barak. There is no memory verse this week.
7th Social Studies
This week will focus on the political movement toward independence and then the difficult middle years of the Revolutionary War that eventually gave the Patriots the upper hand against Britain.
8th Religion
The students have their test on Unit 2 on Monday, November 10th. Then, we will begin Unit 3 which will cover the time of the Judges, King Saul, the life of King David, and then the wisdom of Solomon, We will begin by learning about Gideon’s transformation from a timid farmer to a Godly military leader. There is no memory verse this week.
8th Social Studies
In social studies this week we will study the urbanization of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We will look at the challenges that came with rapid growth, as well as the entertainment and attractions that brought people to cities, many of which are still around today. Then, we will study the rise of progressivism in response to the Gilded Age.
