Dear Parents,
This past week we began talking to the children about Veterans Day. We also learned all about fire safety by getting a visit from the Hicksville Fire Dept.
This coming week we will continue discussing the importance of Veterans Day. The children made Veterans Day cards last week that were sent to veterans at the VFW. We will also finish making our Veterans Day hats to wear home on Monday. The children will be learning about the letter L for leaf. They will learn how to recognize, sound out, and write the letter L. They will also be learning about the color Green. The theme for this week is leaves. We will be taking the children on a leaf hunt, made leaf presses for the windows and other fun leaf crafts. During centers, the children will explore leaves, acorns, and other fall items from the sensory bin. We will be teaching the children about the Fall season during our Scholastic worksheet called “Things Are Changing!” This issues discusses the changes that Autumn brings.
For Math instruction, the children will do a leaf counting worksheet.
