He is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia! I hope all of you had a blessed Easter week. We are getting right back into the swing of things this week. Here are the updates for my classes.
6th Religion
On Monday, we will study Jesus’ first miracle, turning water into wine at the wedding at Cana. Then, we will review for the test on Unit 5, which will be next Monday, April 20th.
6th Social Studies
This week we will study the history, structure, and life under the Roman Republic. This is a short unit, and the test will likely be next week. The next unit will go into the Roman Empire.
7th Religion
This week we will get into the teachings and miracles of Jesus. We will study how Jesus accepted children into His fold, and was also more accepting of people who were traditionally seen as outsiders, such as Samaritans.
7th Social Studies
Before Easter, we focused on how the Industrial Revolution changed life in the North, and this week we will study the Cotton Kingdom of the South, the abolitionist movement, and then the early Women’s Suffrage movement. To supplement our lessons, we will learn about the Seneca Village community that was displaced when Central Park was designed. Toward the end of the week, we will review Topic 7. The test will likely be Wednesday, April 22nd.
8th Religion
This week we will focus on Jesus’ early life- the visit of the Wise Men, being presented in the Temple, and then His baptism by John.
8th Social Studies
In social studies this week, we will study how the U.S. mobilized the Homefront for World War II. Then, we will study key battles that helped the Allies win the War.
