Mrs. Holder’s Update for the Week of November 3, 2025

5th Grade Social Studies – The explorer presentations were fantastic!  Congrats to all the 5th graders for all their hard work. This week we will complete lesson 2 and on Friday we will have a quiz on lessons 1 and 2 (Spanish and English Colonies).

5th Grade Science – Completed the delicious-smelling lab on the Earth’s layers.  This week, we will finalize the atmosphere and start the lessons on the biosphere.  We will also visit The Critter Room to explore how the animals interact with each of the Earth’s systems.  This investigation will be towards the end of the week and into next week.

5th Grade Religion – Excellent job on the students creating and performing songs about God and their relationship with Him.  This week we will focus on the Golden Calf and the Construction of the Tabernacle.

6th Grade Math – We will be trying something new this week as a pilot.  As a way for students to practice their multiplication and division skills, we will periodically use a website called That Quiz.  The students will be asked to complete 20 multiplication problems in 1 minute. This is a pilot, so more information will be provided if we continue to use this resource in the future.  This week, we will start lessons on decimals, and there will be a test early the following week.

6th Grade Earth Science – We will complete the weathering lab and will start lesson 4.2 on Igneous Rocks.  Quiz on 4.2 will be on Friday.
