Mrs. Holder’s Update for the Week of May 18, 2026

Reminder that this week is a short week. Students will be in school Monday through Wednesday and will return on Tuesday after Memorial Day. I  hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!

5th Grade Social Studies – This week we will begin Chapter 7: Life in the Young Republic with a focus on George Washington and the development of the first political parties.

5th Grade Science – We will complete our lessons on volcanoes with a quiz on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will continue our study of natural disasters as we begin learning about floods.

5th Grade Religion – The students really enjoyed the movie Miracles From Heaven. It is a wonderful family movie if you are looking for a family activity. As we continue learning about the miracles of Jesus, this week we will focus on Jesus healing a blind man. Due to the short week, there will be no verse quiz this week.

6th Grade Math – There will be a quiz on Volume on Monday. On Tuesday, we will begin our review for the cumulative math final. Our initial review topics will include LCM, GCF, and fractions.

6th Grade Earth Science – Monday is the Chapter 2 test. On Tuesday, we will begin reviewing for the cumulative Earth Science final, starting with vocabulary from all chapters.
