ARTrageous Adventures…in the Art Room/Week of 5/18 – 5/28/26

This Week in Art:

PreK (Ms. Pepitone) ~ the class is finishing up making their ladybugs

Kindergarten ~ we will be finishing our self-portraits

Gr. 1 ~  the class is finishing up their encaustic paintings of our American flag.  Our next class we will devote to fireworks painting with paper rolls and tempera.

Gr. 2 ~ Grade Two will learn about Claude Monet’s Iris paintings.  They will learn how to paint iris flowers in the Impressionist style using tempera paints.

Gr. 3 ~  the students will be working on a Graffiti initial design project using complementary color pairs.

Gr. 4 ~ the class will be using complementary colored construciton paper to make a rip and paste collage.

Gr. 5 ~ Grade Five will be designing a lego character

Gr. 6 ~ these students will be painting in the style of Seurat using the pointillism technique.

Gr. 7 ~ after watching a video of some of the strangest looking buildings in the world  the students are each drawing the outside of a “strange structure” of their own (ex. supermarket, apartment building, house, hospital).

Gr. 8 ~  the students were asked to use protractors to design an abstract painting inspred by the work of American artist F. Stella.

Art Elective ~ we are working on the construction of our amusement parks.

*** ALL STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN THEIR YEARLY ARTWORK TO TAKE HOME WHEN IT IS DISTRIBUTED TO THEM THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE.
