5th Grade Social Studies
This is the second and final week of our project, Black History Changemakers – Leaders Who Made a Difference. Students are putting the finishing touches on their work. All final projects are due by February 13.

5th Grade Science
This week we begin our Astronomy Part 1 Project. Students will choose one of the following options:

• Constellations & Zodiac in the Night Sky
  
• Space Debris – Pollution Beyond Earth
  
• Moon Phases Storyboard
  
• Space Weather News Report
  

The project will be due on the Tuesday after winter break.

5th Grade Religion
Students will work through Lesson 30: God’s People in Exile and Lesson 31: The Prophets – Judgment and Promise.
The verse for Friday’s quiz is:

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” — Psalm 56:3

6th Grade Math
The ratio test will be on Wednesday, February 11. We will then begin our next unit on exponents, with a focus on PEMDAS. The exponents test will be mid-week after winter break.

6th Grade Earth Science
The Chapter 7 test will be on Monday. We will then begin Chapter 8: Earthquakes. During the first few days, students will focus on what an earthquake is and how it occurs.
