5th Grade Social Studies
We wrapped up Chapter 4 on Friday. Before moving on to Chapter 5, students will begin a new in-class project titled Black History Changemakers – Leaders Who Made a Difference. This is a two-week project that will be completed in class. Project packets were sent home on Friday (1/30), and students will choose their leader on Monday.
5th Grade Science
This week, we will focus on how the Earth moves in space, including rotation and revolution. Students will also participate in a hands-on lab exploring shape-shifting shadows. A vocabulary quiz covering Lessons 1–4 will take place on Friday.
5th Grade Religion
Students will work through Lesson 28: Hoshea and the Fall of Israel and Lesson 29: The Fall of Judah.
The verse to be memorized for Friday’s quiz is:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued My faithfulness to you.”

6th Grade Math
Graphing tests were completed on Friday. On Monday, we will begin a new chapter on Ratios. This is a shorter chapter, and students can expect a test midweek next week.
6th Grade Earth Science
We will be concluding Chapter 7 this week and completing a lab on tectonic plates. The Chapter 7 test is scheduled for Monday, February 9.
