Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week we are continuing to readThe Spiderwick Chronicles Book 2: The Seeing Stone by Tony DiTerlizo and Holly Black. We will also be continuing our unit of argumentative writing. Students will finish writing their argumentative essay answering the question, did the patriots have the right to begin the American Revolution? Students should have a typed final essay submitted on google classroom by Friday. In grammar we will continue our study of verbs. We will also be reading the short story, Hero of the American Revolution. We will be focusing on the skills of main idea and summary. There will be a vocabulary and comprehension test on Friday 1/30.
Math: This week in Math we begin Module 11: Fractions Equivalence and Comparison. We will be focusing on the skill of cross multiplying to compare fractions. There will be a quiz for Module 11 on 2/5, and a test on 2/6.
Religion: In religion we will be practicing our class chapel service for 1/28.
Social Studies: In S.S. we continue Chapter 4, New York in the Revolution. We will start learning about the battles in the revolution as well as key leaders in the revolution. Our next S.S. project, Revolution Bottle Biographies will be due on 1/28. We will be presenting our projects on 1/28 to 1/30.
Science: This week we will be continuing our unit of science, animal and plant adaptations. We will be answering the question, why don’t the same trees grow everywhere.
