Fabulous Fourth Graders Week of January 12th -January 16th

Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week we will be finishing our class readaloud, I survived the American Revolution, 1776 by Lauren Tarshis. There will be a vocabulary and comprehension test on Friday January 16th. We will also be starting our unit of argumentative writing. Students will be beginning to write their argumentative essay answering the question, did the patriots have the right to begin the American Revolution? In grammar we will continue our study of verbs.

Math: This week in Math we complete Module 10, algebraic number theory. We will be learning about divisibility rules, factors, and multiples. There will be a quiz on 1/15 and a test on 1/16. Students DO not have to memorize their divisibility rules, they will be given them for the test and quiz. Helpful handouts, videos, charts, reteach pages, and the HW can all be found on Google Classroom and are excellent resources.

Religion: In religion we return to our study of the old testament, starting our Second Religion Unit: God Leads His Nation.

Social Studies: In S.S. we continue Chapter 4, New York in the Revolution. We will start learning about the battles in the revolution as well as key leaders in the revolution. Our next S.S. project, Revolution Bottle Biographies will be due on 1/28. We will be presenting our projects on 1/28 to 1/30.

Science: This week we will be continuing our unit of science, animal and plant adaptations. We will be answering the question, Why would a sea turtle eat a plastic bag?

Blessings,
