Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!
Merry Christmas! Be sure to mark your calendars for our Winter Concert on 12/16.
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week we will finish our next class read-aloud, The Last Holiday Concert by Andrew Clements. There will be a spelling and comprehension test on 12/12. We will be working on the skill of plot and cause and effect. We will be continuing our fictional narrative writings, as well as working on a retelling of the Christmas story. In grammar we will start our unit on verbs.
Math: This week in Math we begin Module 9, area of rectangles. There will be a quiz on 12/17 and a test on 12/8. Helpful handouts, videos, charts, reteach pages, and the HW can all be found on Google Classroom and are excellent resources.
Religion: In religion this week we begin our learning of the meaning of advent, as well as working on creating our own picture book retelling the Christmas Story.
Social Studies: In S.S. we begin Chapter 4, New York in the Revolution. We will be learning about the causes of the American Revolution.
Science: This week we will be working on answering the following 2 questions, what did your town look like 100 million years ago?, and how could you survive a landslide? There will be a science test on 12/18
Blessings,
Ms. Stainkamp
