Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!
Merry Christmas! It is hard to believe that Chrismtas is in 3 weeks! We will be shopping at the Santa Shop on 12/3 at 9:30am (following chapel) Please also be sure to mark your calendars for our Winter Concert on 12/16. Please note that Tuesday 12/2 is the first day of Trimester 2.
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week we will begin our next class read-aloud, The Last Holiday Concert by Andrew Clements. There will be a spelling and comprehension test on 12/12. We will be working on the skill of plot and cause and effect. We will be continuing our fictional narrative writings, as well as working on a retelling of the Christmas story. In grammar we will be continuing our unit on nouns.
Math: This week in Math we continue Module 8, 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. There will be a quiz on Thursday 12/4 and a test on 12/5. Helpful handouts, videos, charts, reteach pages, and the HW can all be found on Google Classroom and are excellent resources.
Religion: In religion this week we begin our learning of the meaning of advent, as well as working on creating our own picture book retelling the Christmas Story.
Social Studies: In S.S. we begin Chapter 4, New York in the Revolution. We will be learning about the causes of the American Revolution.
Science: This week we will be working on answering the following 2 questions, why do some volcanos explode? and will a mountain last forever?
