Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!
Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:
ELA: This week we will finish I Survived the Battle of Gettysburg 1863 by Lauren Tarshis. We do not have a class set of the book. If your child would like to read along, please bring in a copy of the book. We will be focusing on the skill of cause and effect. There will be a spelling test on 4/23 and a brief book comprehension test on 4/24. In grammar we will begin our study of adverbs and adjectives. In writing we will begin to type our narrative stories.
Math: This week we will continue Module 15: adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like denominators. Be sure to check google classroom for helpful handouts and videos that review the steps to solve the equations for the module There will be a quiz on 4/23 and a test on 4/24.
Religion: In religion we will begin Unit 3: God rises up leaders.
Social Studies: In S.S. We begin chapter 6- Social Change and the Civil War. Our Civil War Biography Project is due on 4/29.
Science: This week we begin our next unit of study, Electricity, Heat, and Light. We will be exploring alternate forms of energy focusing on the question, what is the best way to light up a city.
