Dear Parents,

We had a wonderful first couple of weeks getting to know the children and making new friends.  The children are continuing to adjust to our classroom routines.  They are doing a great job  coming into the classroom, hanging up their backpacks, and taking out their folders and putting them in the bin.

This past week, we learned a lot about each other when the children began presenting their “All About Me” posters.  They enjoyed sharing stories about their families and we enjoyed hearing about them!

We began teaching the children about our unit on apples.  We made apple press caterpillars with the children and decorated our class with them.   The children had fun measuring themselves using apple cutouts taped to the wall.   We also began making an apple core craft for our community wall in the ECC hallway.  The children had fun making their snack mats that they decorated, which is used each day before snack and lunch.

Next week we will begin learning about the letter “A” for Apple.   We will learn how to recognize, sound out, and write the letter A.  The children will also be making cute Fall crafts that we will use to decorate our room to make it look beautiful!

IMPORTANT DATES AND REMINDERS:
– September 16th – Back to School Night starting at 7:00 pm in the Chapel.

– October 2nd – ECC field trip to White Post Farms

– October 13th – NO SCHOOL for Columbus Day

– Please remember to send in your child’s folder and empty each day.
