This Week in Art

PreK ~ the class learned about the artist Monet’s lovely garden and lily pond.  They started painting their ponds.

Kindergarten ~ the class will be reviewling different line names and will be learning how to draw a person using shapes.

Gr. 1 ~ First Grade will be doing a review project inspired by the artist V. Kandinsky.  They will be making a line and shape collage.

Gr. 2 ~ Second graders will finish sponge painting the leaves on their Autumn Activity pictures.

Gr. 3 ~ the third graders will be finishing up their drawings of mums in a vase.

Gr. 4 ~ Fourth graders will be making a landscape collage.  Discussion will focus on the element of space in art (background, mid-ground,foreground).

Gr. 5 ~ this class will learn about the ancient artform Batik.  They will create a faux batik out of glue and watercolors.

Gr. 6 ~ Sixth graders will learn how to create movement in art.  They will use a sketch they made of their shoes to demonstrate the art principle in their work.

Gr. 7 ~ the class will create an abstract leaf drawing using organic and geometric shapes.

Gr. 8 ~ this class will continue to work on their Phobia drawings.

Art Elective ~ they will continue to work on their abstract expressionism paintings
