This Week in Art:

PreK — Welcome to Art!  This week we will be making an Apple Tree Collage for the season of Fall.

Kindergarten ~ We have reviewed different types of lines and learned how to draw basic shapes.  This week we will focus on drawing different objects combining these shapes.  We also learned about the horizon line.

Grade 1 ~  The class reviewed the book Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.  After drawing Rainbow fish, the class will finish coloring their pictures and will use watercolor to paint over the entire paper.  We have left one scale empty to fill in with glitter!

Grade 2 ~ The class reviewed different types of lines and the horizon line. Everyone was reminded to use their basic shapes to draw people and different images.  No More Stick Figures!!!   This week the class will start drawing an Autumn Activity.

Grade 3 ~ We are working on a design for the program of our school’s 70th Anniversary Celebration!

Grade 4 ~ Same as Grade 3

Art Elective ~  This is our first class together and we will start an Abstract Expressionism painting inspired by the artist Sally Trace.

*All classes (Gr 3-8) should have brought back their classroom art contracts to Mrs. Kerwin

*All classes (Gr K-8) should be bringing in a smock they can store in their classrooms or lockers.

*Keep checking this Blog on a weekly basis for important messages and notes about all art classes. All Middle School Students should be checking their Art Google Classrooms in their chromebooks on a weekly basis so that they don’t miss important messages and/or homework assignments.
