Hello Fabulous Fourth Grade Families!

It is hard to believe that the school year is starting to wrap up. Please be sure that your child has returned their permission slip and $35 by June 1st to participate in our trip to Round 1 on Monday June 8th.

This week we will be completing our end of year benchmarks. Please ensure that your child comes to school each day ready to do their best 🙂

It is essential that students bring a charged chromebook to school everyday, as we will be using them throughout the day, as well as an independent reading book.

Below you will find what we will be doing for each subject this week:

ELA: This week we will finish reading Holes by Louis Sachar. We will be focusing on character development, and plot. In writing we will continue publishing our fictional/fantasy narratives. Students will be working on creating a picture book of their story.

We will also be completing the end of year benchmarks. We will be taking a part of the ELA benchmark each day.

Math: This week we will review for the end of year benchmark, which we will be completing on Friday.

Religion: In religion we will continue Unit 3: God rises up leaders.

Social Studies: In social studies we will continue Unit 7: NY transforms. We will begin talking about Ellis Island and Immigration. Our Ellis Island project will be completed at home, and is due by 5/29.

Science: This week we will be continuing to learn about different forms of energy, and how energy is transferred.

Blessings,

Ms. Stainkamp
