What’s New in Pre-K: Week of September 22nd

Aa is for apples!  The season of Fall begins on Monday.  We will be enjoying and learning about our favorite fruit of the fall season – apples – this week.  We will review the life cycle of an apple tree, go on a virtual field trip to an apple orchard, enjoy the true story of Johnny Appleseed, sing Apple finger plays like, “Way Up High In An Apple Tree,” and create & eat a fall treat – mini apple pies!

In combination with our apple theme, we will also introduce the color green, the number three and the concept of longer/shorter.  We begin our religious study of the alphabet as it relates to our faith through the “ABCs of Faith” curriculum on Monday.  Each day we will explore how our letter of the week relates to our faith.  This week we discover how Aa is for Abraham, Angels, Alleluia, and Amen through song, story and craft.
Please note:  If you are sending in supplies for our apple pie project, it would be appreciated if those items could be sent in to class by this Monday so that the activity may be prepped in advance.
A big thank you to all who donated so generously to our classroom.  Thank you!  We appreciate your support!
